Jiaxing Xinsen Plastic Co., Ltd. has manufactured plastic sheet at our Jiaxing, Zhejiang plant since October 2001, and Polypropylene Homopolymer Sheet is one of the core polypropylene products we build in volume. Our PPH Sheet Range

The range is deliberately narrow, and each grade has a defined job. Where a project calls for a general-purpose polypropylene sheet instead of a homopolymer grade, we cover that through our PP Sheet line; where lower service temperature or higher impact toughness governs the design, the HDPE Sheets range is the practical alternative.

Where PPH Sheet Performs

Homopolymer polypropylene sheet is chosen where chemical exposure, stiffness and weld integrity all have to hold at the same time. Typical service conditions we configure for include:

• Surface treatment and chemicals: pickling and plating tanks, rinse stations, fume extraction ducting, scrubber shells, containment trays.
• Water and environmental: treatment vessels, dosing cabinets, clarifier internals, brine and coagulant contact parts.
• Food and hygiene: cutting boards, work tables, splash guards, conveyor guides, chiller and cleanroom panelling.
• Medical and laboratory: equipment housings, sterilisation trays, bench units and sink assemblies.
• General fabrication: tank lids, covers, liners and machined components where toughness and weight matter more than chemical duty.

Material Behaviour That Sets the Specification

PPH homopolymer is specified at a density near 0.91 g/cm3 and keeps its stiffness better than polyethylene at the same wall thickness, which is why tank walls can often be built thinner for the same duty. The points below are the ones that decide a sheet specification in practice.

• Continuous service temperature of homopolymer PP generally sits around 95 °C, with short excursions above that confirmed against the media and load.
• Resistance to acids, alkalis, salts and most aqueous process media is strong; strong oxidising agents, aromatic and chlorinated solvents need media confirmation before release.
• Low moisture absorption and low swelling keep dimensions stable in wet service.
• Non-toxic, hygienic formulations suit food contact and cleanroom components when the order is placed to that requirement.
• Thermal expansion in the order of 0.15 mm per metre per °C must be allowed for in long runs and welded assemblies.
• Weldability is a defining advantage: butt, hot-gas and extrusion welds reach high joint strength when the sheet and filler rod match.

Thickness, Format and Surface Finish

We do not sell PPH sheet as a fixed catalogue item; thickness and sheet size are set from the drawing and the service condition. Thick sections for tank walls, thinner gauges for liners and ducting, and trimmed panels with squared edges for automatic welding are all produced to order.

• Surface options across our processes: smooth, frosted and orange-peel texture, on one or both faces.
• Three-layer co-extrusion supports two-colour and three-colour sheet development where visual coding or wear indication is required.
• Colour is natural or pigmented to a supplied reference, with batch colour continuity maintained across series orders.
• Sheets are trimmed to the ordered length and width, with thickness checked across the panel rather than at a single point.

Fabrication, Welding and Installation

PPH behaves differently from metal on site, and a correct sheet specification can still fail at installation. We support fabricators with practical guidance for each order.

• Butt welding with matching filler rod for tank shells and long seams; hot-gas and extrusion welding for fillets and nozzle connections.
• Joint faces cleaned and dry-fit checked before welding; weld beads visually inspected and, where specified, tested by coupon.
• Machining with standard carbide or woodworking tooling at moderate feed rates to avoid local heating.
• Support spacing and slotted anchor holes sized to accommodate thermal movement in large panels.
• Notches, sharp corners and unsupported spans avoided, since these concentrate stress in service.

Quality Control and Acceptance

We run full process management: inspection after each production step, and 100% final inspection of finished sheet against the customer's requirements and applicable international standards before packing. In-house testing equipment covers the physical checks that decide whether a panel can be released.

• Dimensional check on length, width and squareness; thickness measured at multiple grid points.
• Flatness and bow assessment on panels intended for automatic welding lines.
• Surface inspection for scratches, inclusions, colour streaks and texture consistency.

Packing, Delivery and Documentation

Finished sheet is protected with film where the surface is cosmetic, fitted with edge protection, and packed on pallets or in plywood cases for container loading. Our Jiaxing site sits within a two-hour drive of Shanghai Port and Ningbo Port, and our plant is located at the Shanghai–Hangzhou–Suzhou intersection, which keeps land and sea freight straightforward for export orders. Thickness and format are produced to the ordered specification rather than limited to a fixed list. We confirm them against the working medium, temperature, weld process and the panel size your workshop handles, then produce a sample sheet first when the part is new.

Is PPH sheet suitable for chemical tanks and pickling lines?
